78歲生日禮物

今天早上我的朋友們慎重的在為我生日祈禱，祝福我健康長壽，

我告訴他們：對我而言最好的生日禮物是：

請保持你的心念、思想更仁慈；真誠關心別人，發心幫助、服務別人以及動物。

如果你沒有機會服務他人，那麼至少約束自己不要傷害他們。

我親愛的朋友、兄弟姐妹們，如果從今而後能夠保持仁慈的心，

在你的餘生都比以往更加仁慈，這就是送給我的最好的生日禮物。“

我也願意收到這樣的禮物啊!

如果每個人都希望收到這種禮物，

而不是蛋糕、鑽石、精品…

那麼人類就有希望了，地球也有希望了。

達賴喇嘛的生日禮物，

應該也是所有一貫道親期望收到的生日禮物，

下次生日，叫孩子們不要買禮物，

以布施、行善或清口、渡人…

做為送給父母最好的生日禮物。

這也是金錢買不到的生日禮物，

也是最珍貴的生日禮物了。

"The best gift for me on my birthday is ... please keep your own mind, your own heart more compassionate..... seriously and genuinely concerned for others' well-being.... with that motivation, serve others, help people and also animals. If you do not have the opportunity to serve others, then at least restrain from harming them. So, all my friends, brothers and sisters, please keep in your mind for the rest of your life, (to have) a more compassionate life. Then that's the best present for my birthday."
